Simpson University
Simpson University is currently seeking candidates for Dean of A.W. Tozer Theological Seminary. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Provost of Simpson University. The Dean provides academic and administrative direction and vision for the Seminary. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in ministry or a related field, administrative experience, and teaching experience in theological education. The Dean must be willing to be licensed with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, and must agree with the Statement of Faith of Simpson University as well as the Mission and Values of the Seminary. The starting date is August 1, 2009. The search will remain open until a suitable candidate is chosen.

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION FOR
ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES
Parkside Chapel of the C&MA

PURPOSE OF POSITION
To model and build a Great Commandment/Great Commission lifestyle among children.
To make healthy disciples who are "Walking & Talking Jesus".
SCOPE OF THE POSITION
To develop the Children’s Ministry, ages 0 through 6th grade, at Parkside Chapel.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION
• A mature Christian modeling I Timothy 3:1-7 (Elder qualities) and Galatians 5:22,23,
(Fruit of the Spirit) character.
• A passion for and an ability to relate well to children.
• An ability to relate and communicate well with the parents of the children.
• The ability to recruit, equip and lead an adult volunteer staff.
• Gifted in teaching God's Word and administrating Children’s Ministries.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study and a minimum of 5 years experience in Children’s Ministry is preferred but not required.
• Agreement with Christian & Missionary Alliance doctrine and mission.
ACCOUNTABLE TO THE SENIOR PASTOR UNDER THE OVERSIGHT OF THE BOARD OF ELDERS
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee & develop the Sunday morning ministry to nursery – 6th children for worship services (Children’s churches) and the Disciplemaking Hour (Sunday School). This includes the recruiting selection and training of staff as well as the selection of Biblical teaching material including training the staff in the effective use of those materials.
• Oversee and develop the Wednesday evening AWANA ministry.
• Implement and maintain safe place procedures.
• Oversee and develop 4th-6th grade children's camps and retreats.
• Assist in coordinating areas of ministry with the larger life of the church body.
• Inspire children and their families to spiritual growth inside and outside the classroom.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee and provide childcare for church wide events on an “as needed” basis.
• Oversee and develop seasonal events and outreaches, i.e. Children’s Christmas Program, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Choir, Harvest Festival, Mom’s Day Out, etc.
• Serve on the Disciplemaking Council.
• Develop and administrate a Children’s Ministry Budget.
• Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor & Elders.
